What to Expect
As an intern, you will be immersed in high-impact projects that are critical to the success of Tesla’s traction inverter team. Key Responsibilities
- Design and build custom printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), electrical tools, and testing scripts for power semiconductors and converters.
- Conduct hands-on experiments to characterize and optimize the performance of power semiconductors and converters.
- Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, and firmware engineering teams to ensure successful design, validation, and manufacturing of traction inverters.
What You’ll Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with ongoing Master’s studies, or equivalent experience with demonstrated ability.
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and soldering tools.
- Proficiency in programming languages like C or MATLAB.
- Experience with PCB design software as part of coursework or academic projects.
- A strong passion for electrical design engineering, demonstrated through extracurricular projects or activities.
- Curiosity and attention to detail, with a focus on understanding how Tesla products are designed, built, and operate.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on hardware experience in high-voltage power electronics design, simulation, and testing.
- Expertise in designing analog/digital circuits, including schematic creation, PCB layout, and microprocessor programming.
